Lahore Traffic Police Launches Strict Crackdown on Underage and Unlicensed Drivers

Lahore Traffic Police has launched a major citywide crackdown against underage and unlicensed drivers, introducing strict penalties aimed at improving road safety and reducing traffic violations across the city.

Officials say motorcycles and vehicles being driven by minors will now be impounded immediately and shifted to nearby police stations. Along with vehicle seizure, violators will also face heavy challans as part of the enforcement campaign.

The move comes as authorities continue efforts to tackle rising traffic accidents and unsafe driving practices in Lahore.

Heavy Fines for License Violations

According to traffic police officials, motorists driving cars with learner permits or expired licenses will face a fine of Rs. 5,000.

Meanwhile, motorcycle riders caught without a valid driving license can be fined Rs. 2,000.

Authorities have made it clear that strict checking will continue across the city and no leniency will be shown in serious violations.

No Triple Riding, No Invalid Commercial Driving

Traffic police have also issued a strong warning against triple riding on motorcycles, calling it one of the major causes of road accidents.

Commercial vehicle operators have also been reminded that they cannot legally drive without proper PSV (Public Service Vehicle) or HTV (Heavy Transport Vehicle) licenses.

Officials say action will be taken against drivers operating commercial transport without the required documentation.

License Offices to Remain Open Despite Holiday

To make the process easier for citizens, all driving license offices in Lahore will remain open despite the public holiday.

Special checking points have also been established outside license centers to monitor compliance and help streamline the licensing process.

This step is aimed at encouraging people to complete renewals and obtain valid licenses without delay.

Online Services Also Available

For added convenience, traffic police have reminded citizens that online services for learner permits, license renewals, and duplicate licenses are also available.

Officials say these digital services are designed to reduce crowds and make the process faster for the public.

A Push for Safer Roads

Authorities say the crackdown is not just about fines—it is about creating safer roads for everyone.

By targeting underage drivers, expired licenses, and unsafe riding practices, Lahore Traffic Police hopes to reduce accidents and promote responsible driving habits across the city.

For motorists, the message is simple: follow the rules, carry valid documents, and drive responsibly.
