Pakistan’s Leadership Steps Forward at UNGA 80
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is making Pakistan proud at the opening session of the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York. He arrived with a high-level team including Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
With an agenda that underscores Pakistan’s commitment to multilateral diplomacy, the Prime Minister will participate in a special summit of Arab and Islamic nations co-hosted by the United States and Qatar—alongside global leaders including U.S. President Donald Trump.
His schedule also includes bilateral meetings with key global figures: Austria’s Chancellor Christian Stocker, Kuwait’s Crown Prince & Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, World Bank President Ajay Banga, and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva.
In addition, PM Shehbaz is set to speak at the high-level meeting of the Global Development Initiative, offering Pakistan’s perspectives on climate change, regional security, the plight of Palestine & Jammu & Kashmir, and the fight against Islamophobia & terrorism—all with a view toward peace, cooperation, and shared prosperity.
