Saudi Investment to Usher in a New Era of Prosperity in Punjab: CM Maryam Nawaz
Lahore, October 11, 2025 — Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that Saudi Arabia’s growing investment in Pakistan marks the beginning of a new era of prosperity, development, and mutual progress for the province.
Welcoming a high-powered delegation of the Saudi-Pakistan Business Council, led by Prince Mansour bin Mohammed Al Saud, the Chief Minister praised the visionary leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, noting that relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reached “new heights of friendship and economic partnership.”
“The arrival of this delegation marks good fortune for Punjab,” Maryam Nawaz said, reaffirming her government’s commitment to modern reforms, investor-friendly policies, and inclusive growth across multiple sectors. She appreciated the recent defense cooperation agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, describing it as “a reflection of our shared trust and brotherhood.”
Highlighting her personal connection with the Kingdom, Maryam Nawaz recalled her years in Jeddah during her family’s exile. “Jeddah is more familiar to me than Lahore,” she said with affection, expressing deep gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support during Pakistan’s difficult times, including natural disasters.
Prince Mansour bin Mohammed Al Saud, while appreciating Punjab’s vast agricultural and industrial potential, announced that Saudi investors plan to build one million low-cost houses in Pakistan within the next four years, alongside projects in agriculture, health, and information technology. He described Punjab as “a land of opportunity” and reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s confidence in Pakistan’s future.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to transforming the Pakistan-Saudi partnership into a model of sustainable development and shared prosperity.
