Pakistan Successfully Launches Indigenous Fatah-4 Cruise Missile
The Pakistan Army on Tuesday demonstrated its growing technological strength by successfully conducting a training launch of the newly inducted Fatah-4 ground-launched cruise missile, covering a range of 750 kilometres, the military’s media wing (ISPR) announced.
Equipped with advanced avionics and modern navigational aids, the Fatah-4 is designed with terrain-hugging flight to evade enemy missile defence systems and engage targets with high precision, helping to enhance survivability in contested environments.
Commanded under the newly formed Army Rocket Force Command, Fatah-4 is expected to sharpen the conventional strike capability of Pakistan’s military forces, extending reach and lethality without relying on nuclear weapons.
The launch was witnessed by senior military leadership, scientists, engineers, and government dignitaries. The President, Prime Minister, Chairman Joint Chiefs, and service chiefs have all extended their congratulations to the technical and operational teams involved.
President Asif Ali Zardari’s office described the launch as a major milestone, highlighting the nation’s scientific self-reliance and reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining robust defence capabilities.
Analysts view this development as a deliberate move to balance conventional deterrence in the region, enabling Pakistan to respond to threats more flexibly.
