Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong desire to deepen its friendship with Egypt during a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha on Monday.
The Prime Minister condemned the September 9 violation of Qatar’s sovereignty, calling it a reckless act and a clear breach of international law. Both leaders stood firmly in solidarity with Qatar.
Appreciating Egypt’s proactive diplomacy at such a pivotal moment, PM Shehbaz Sharif described the Doha Summit as a powerful demonstration of unity among Muslim nations against injustice.
Recalling his earlier discussions with President El-Sisi, the Prime Minister expressed Pakistan’s commitment to boosting bilateral cooperation, especially in trade, investment, and health. The two leaders agreed to stay in close contact given the complex regional situation.
Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir were also present, signifying Pakistan’s resolve to strengthen regional ties and stand firm for principles of peace, sovereignty and mutual respect.
