Pakistani music sensation Quratulain Balouch—affectionately known as QB—continues to inspire resilience and gratitude. Recently, during a memorable camping shoot in the breathtaking Deosai National Park near Skardu’s Bara Pani, she experienced an unexpected encounter with a rare Himalayan brown bear. Although the moment took many by surprise, the incident ended positively thanks to quick-thinking locals and wildlife staff.
QB was visiting the Carved-in-Time beauty of Deosai for a music video, accompanied by her dedicated team—her cameraman, driver, and close friends. The bear momentarily startled the camp, causing injuries to both of QB’s arms. But thanks to swift action—her team’s bravery, nearby wildlife officials’ first aid, and prompt hospital care—she was soon on the road to recovery. Doctors confirmed she is out of danger, and spirits remain high.
The incident serves as a powerful reminder of the wild magic that Deosai holds—and the need to enjoy its wonders responsibly. Accordingly, Gilgit-Baltistan authorities have introduced new safety guidelines, encouraging campers to stay closer to hotels or designated safe zones and avoid setting up camp after dark.
Deosai, often celebrated as the “Land of Giants,” is one of the world’s highest and most captivating plateaus, continuing to draw nature lovers from across the globe with its lush wildflower carpets, crystal-clear streams, and incredible wildlife—like the endangered Himalayan brown bear and the golden marmot
