SBP Launches Nationwide “Go Cashless” Campaign for Eid ul Adha 2026

As Eid ul Adha preparations pick up across Pakistan, the State Bank of Pakistan has rolled out its nationwide “Go Cashless” campaign for 2026, aiming to make cattle market transactions safer, faster, and more convenient through digital payments.

The initiative marks a major expansion compared to last year. In 2025, the campaign covered 54 cattle markets, but this year the number has nearly doubled to 96 markets nationwide. To support the effort, 22 banks are setting up dedicated camps and kiosks where buyers and sellers can receive assistance with digital payment services.

From QR code payments and mobile banking to Raast transfers, the campaign is designed to encourage Pakistanis to move away from traditional cash dealings during the busy Eid trading season.

One of the key features of this year’s campaign is the temporary relaxation of transaction and account balance limits. These relaxations will remain effective from May 14 to June 5, allowing users to make larger digital transactions smoothly during peak cattle trading days.

Officials say the move is not only about convenience but also about improving security in crowded cattle markets, where large cash transactions can often pose safety risks. By encouraging digital payments, the campaign also supports broader financial inclusion goals and Pakistan’s ongoing transition toward a more transparent and digitally connected economy.

The growing use of Raast and mobile banking services in everyday transactions reflects a gradual shift in consumer behavior across the country. With banks actively engaging customers on-ground during Eid season, the initiative could help many first-time users become more comfortable with digital financial tools.

As Pakistan continues expanding its digital infrastructure, campaigns like “Go Cashless” highlight how technology is becoming increasingly integrated into daily life — even in traditional marketplaces such as Eid cattle bazaars.
